Island Park

We went on our first real family vacation! We go on trips quite a bit but we'd never gone with just our family just for the fun of it. It's always for an extended family event or something (which we LOVE too!!). We got an amazing deal on a cabin in Island Park so we decided to go as kind of a 3 year anniversary celebration (which was May 1st). We had so much fun. We left Monday afternoon (May 14th) and got back Wednesday afternoon. The cabin was so nice and although we still had to take care of kids and cook meals and all that it was fun to be somewhere else doing it and to be outdoors more and see this beautiful part of Idaho. Here's lots of pics!

Samuel's favorite activity of the trip was throwing rocks into the lake and pond.

We didn't catch anything but Sam loved his first time holding a fishing pole anyway.
Eliza was a champ. Whenever we went out on the boat she'd just fall asleep in my little carrier.

Caleb's favorite part of the trip was seeing all the trout at Big Springs. They were pretty big. Above you can see two of them right in the middle of the picture. He finally got Sam to spot one too.

I was excited to find out that there was a grill at our cabin. We don't have one at home so it was pretty fun. The chicken and veggie skewers were delish.

Sam loved exploring in the forest and seeing lots of animals. He saw squirrels, a jack rabbit, flying ants, lots of other bugs, horses, fish, and heard lots of frogs in the pond. Thankfully we didn't see or hear any bears. Island Park is bear country so were were pretty paranoid once it got dark!

We walked into our room and found that Sam had stuck two sets of keys in a crack in the wood on this lamp. We thought it was pretty cute and picture worthy. :)
Our cabin. There was a hot tub which Caleb and I sat in one evening but Eliza started crying after we'd only been in about 10 min. so it was short lived. We reminisced about our first hot tubing experience after we first started dating -- in Midway during Thanksgiving with my family!
