The boys really liked singing the ABCs together and would usually do that during dinner. They slept in the same room which usually wasn't a problem because they were so tired by the time we got them to bed they'd fall right asleep. But one night they would not go to sleep! They were being so silly and jumping in their beds and cracking up at who knows what. I couldn't bring myself to separate them though because some of my fondest memories growing up are from those hours when we were supposed to be going to bed but were laughing and being silly. I'm sure they'll always have a special connection after this week together!
Jared called me "Mama" and Caleb "Papa" which was pretty cute. :) The first couple days we would tell him every so often that I was Aunt Kim and that Caleb was Uncle Caleb. Then Sam started calling Daddy "Uncle Caleb." :)
We started our Memorial Day our right with breakfast at Perkins! Last time we ate out for breakfast was when Sam was 6 weeks old, so we decided to make it a tradition with each baby. Some time in the first few months of their life we'll all go out for breakfast. Told you were trying to start more traditions!
Then we headed to Heise (Hi-C) and went on a little "hike." We went on this same one when Samuel was a few months old. I think it's called Water Crescent trail or something. It's mostly paved and stroller/wheel chair accessible so it's a good one for kids. There's a nice view of the snake river at the top and some pretty wild flowers along the trail.
The boys' favorite part of course was throwing rocks in the water.
Can you see the determined look in his face? He's not stoppin' for nothin'! As I mentioned Jared is usually a pretty chill kid and when we were hiking we'd have to kind of prod him along. But on the way down he decided to take off running. I could barely keep up with him! It was pretty funny how he all of a sudden got led in his feet!
