All Is Safely Gathered In

Caleb suggested the title for my blog post today. :) It has been a food storage week! It feels SO good to have made so much progress on it. We spent almost all day Saturday working on it and I spent lots of time during the week figuring out what to buy, where to buy it, how to store it, etc. As you can see we decided to store some things in buckets. The dry stuff like wheat, beans, corn, oats, spaghetti, etc. We also got a wheat grinder this week. After doing lots of research and reading lots of reviews and talking to lots of people we went with the Nutrimill. I haven't used it yet but I'm excited to try it. Everyone says your bread turns out better with freshly ground wheat and I'm counting on this being true!
Here's Sam and Eliora. Eli's 4 weeks older than Sam. We're good friends with Eli's parents, the Jones, and we hang out with them a lot. We watched Eli Saturday morning while they went to the temple and her and Sam were "helping" Dad organize the closet. :)

It's so funny to watch Sam try lots of new foods. Lately he doesn't like baby food much but he loves almost everything we eat! I made chicken noodle soup this week and ground some up for him and he LOVED it. He was really going to town on that cucumber too. Caleb's on this Vitamin D kick lately...we're still battling this darn cold and we can't help but think a little sun might keep us all healthier! Although it's been really cold still outside it's been really sunny, so Sam's high chair is in front of the window. A little sun can go a long way for us here in Idaho!I don't think I've recorded yet that Sam LOVES basketballs. He's obsessed with them. If there's one in the room he refuses to nurse, and must go touch it. He's also into clapping lately. :) It's so cute. Whenever we say "Yay Sam!" he starts clapping.Another thing Sam loves is sucking on rags. Lately I've been doing it with him and it seems like he thinks that's pretty cool. :)
Caleb's been spending a lot of time with the young men trying to get them to advance in their scouting. He continues to save Melaleuca lots of money and he likes doing it! I organized a little Valentine's craft on Wednesday and had a couple girls come over with their kids and had a great time. I love crafting with other people. I never finish projects if I'm just doing them by myself.
Sam has slept through the night every night the last week and it is so great! Mothering is a lot easier when you get a good night's sleep. Til next week!

What a funny kid! I think he is the cutest. He looks so posed in that pic of you two sucking on the rag. I need to come kiss those cheeks!
