Family Reunion

The Baker reunion was fun but Caleb's allergies got the best of him... so our time there was cut short. Our campground by Utah Lake was surrounded by huge Cottonwood trees and it was pretty much hazy from all the cotton floating around in the air. Caleb had some really bad allergic reactions to it and was miserable and swollen and "sneezing his brains out" most of the time! His allergies usually get bad in June but never THAT bad. He was ODing on all the medicine he could but nothing would help. It was actually somewhat intriguing to see what his eyes would look like each morning! Poor guy. We drove up to Josh and Stephanie's house in Draper and slept on their floor Thursday, then packed up our tent Friday and went home (we'd planned to stay through Saturday). We did get to go swimming there at the campground, do a cool "Hold to the Iron Rod" activity and testimony meeting, hike the Y, go bowling, and raft down the Provo River. Sam loved seeing the moon at night and waking up to birds chirping and airplanes flying overhead. He'd live outside if we'd let him! Here's a few pics... poor Sam was sleep deprived!I carried my little nephew on the way down.
I can't believe we only have a week until we leave for the Andersen and Backus reunions in Utah!!! I can't wait. The summer is "da best!"
We've been having great success garage sale-ing lately. We've gotten tons of cute clothes for Sam that are in great condition for a small fraction of what we'd pay to get those clothes new! That's SO the way to go with kids' clothes. We've also helped at the Stake garden the past two Saturdays. I'm glad to have somewhere to pull weeds since my garden isn't big enough to grow weeds! I guess I'm weird but I like doing that.
Sam and I went to our ward playgroup on Thursday and took the neighbor girls (Kaycie and Lola) with us too. It was a water activity with a slip 'n slide, kiddie pools, water balloons, and all sorts of other water toys. I went on the slip 'n slide and unfortunately totally took out a little kid who decided to jump on the opposite end of it just as I was starting! Boy did I feel like a fatty... unable to even slow let alone stop my momentum! Sam loved the slip 'n slide though. Can't wait to take him to the pool in Houston!
The Cabreras are moving to California for grad school so once again we're trying to find new renters. We've showed it to 2 people and 1 more will come tomorrow... we're praying we find good ones that want to move in July 15th. So far we've been extremely blessed to find great renters. We really haven't had any bad ones. Nobody has ever even been late on a payment.
We LOVE having warm weather!! I can't say that enough. I'm still running in prep for the 4th of July 5K. Caleb hurt his leg playing bball and it's still pretty sore so he hasn't been running much but hopefully it'll be well enough by the 4th to race. We both have the goal to beat the times we ran at the Melaleuca 5K.
And last but not least (it's not "least" b/c his belly is huge!!) Sam has discovered his belly button!
