Sam and the BoM

The other morning I was doing the dishes and realized Sam was being way too quiet for way too long. So I rushed into the living room expecting to find him writing on the wall, tearing paper/books, playing with (scratching) CDs, etc. This is what I found...Sam was sitting there calmly and gently flipping through the Book of Mormon! I was completely shocked!! Those crinkly scripture pages seem like the funnest to tear, and he's definitely done that before. But he is a changed man. :) We try to read it with him everyday and I think if nothing else he's learned it's a special book and he thinks it's cool to hold it and flip through the pages. He loves finding the pictures of Jesus in the front too. He says Jesus so well! So I guess what they say is true... it's never too early to start teaching your kids! They take in way more than you'd think. I've found him doing this a couple times since and it's so adorable.
He knows about 25 words I'd guess and he loves to use the words he knows. Everywhere we go he's pointing out stars, flags, balls, circles, clocks, flowers, keys, airplanes, hats, clouds, the moon, etc. And he says the word over and over until you acknowledge the object and he feels satisfied that you've seen what he's pointing out. The other day we were in a home decor store and the lady said, "Good thing you have a helper to point out to you what everything is!" And he really was. There was this tiny picture of a cowboy on a horse with a hat on. He pointed saying "hat, hat, hat" until I finally saw what he was talking about! He sees very fine details. I guess his eyes focus in on the objects he knows. So far Caleb and I love nothing more in life than being parents!!
