Big day for Eliza

I texted Caleb on August 25th something along the lines of: “Today is a big day for Eliza. Her first bites of food and her first pony tail!” I was pretty excited to put an elastic in her hair. Now I do it all the time, since I’m not sure what else I could possibly do with it! It’s SO long right there on top that it’ll go in her eyes if I don’t pull it back. I think it’s pretty dang cute. She turned 6 months on the 4th!!

Her first feeding was a little messy but she loved it!

Sam had a piece of toast when I started feeding Eliza and he asked to have a baby spoon and bowl and then broke up his toast into little pieces and ate it with the spoon. He often pretends to be "Baby Wiza."

She had her first sickness a couple weeks ago. She hadn’t even had a runny nose until then which is a huge blessing! I was worried about her for a couple days because her cough sounded so bad and she would almost choke sometimes on mucus in her throat. I took long showers with her every morning and lathered her in vicks at every opportunity and used the dreaded green booger sucker as necessary and after about a week it passed.
She gets more and more fun all the time. Samuel wakes up around 7 almost every morning and Eliza sleeps about an hour or an hour and a half past that. When Sam hears Eliza talking and squealing he’ll say, “I think Baby Wiza’s awake!” He’ll run in there and say something like “Good morning pretty girl!” and climb into her crib and make her smile and laugh. Then I’ll come in after a bit and get them both out. That morning moment is one of my favorite things!
Everywhere we go Eliza gets comments on her "thunder thighs." She has some good rolls for sure.
