Caleb turned 26 on July 18th! He is now officially older than me... for 23 days.
When we woke up the morning of his birthday I COMPLETELY FORGOT!!!! It was awful. Luckily I made a nice breakfast anyway... then when we'd almost finished eating breakfast he mentioned something about it. I was so embarrassed. I really had thought about it before and we'd gone shopping for his birthday present and everything, but the morning of I spaced it.
When he came home from work we had balloons on the couch with "Happy Birthday Caleb" written on them. Then Sam had a blast playing with them.
We had the Schuldtz over for Caleb's birthday dinner and had lots of fun with them. Caleb home teaches them and they're not active but we've become really good friends with them. They're moving in a few weeks though and we'll definitely miss them. For once the meal I made actually turned out good! Broiled marinated salmon and vegetable fried rice. Yum. We hadn't even gone through all the fish that we got last year, and Caleb's Dad just sent us 25 lbs. more! He just came home from his annual fishing trip in Alaska. After 2 years I'm finally finding some good ways to cook salmon. Good thing cause we've got lots of it.Then we had a mint chocolate Coldstone ice cream cake for dessert. It wasn't as good as I thought a Coldstone ice cream cake should be, but still pretty good. Caleb liked it.

After the Schuldtz left we went and played tennis at Bonneville High School for a bit. Sam was running around being our ball boy. We almost felt bad cause he was just nonstop running after our balls and bringing them to us! But he wouldn't rather be doing anything else besides chasing balls. He is completely obsessed with balls still. Everything that's even semi-round is either a ball or the moon (we've either got an athlete or an astronaut on our hands!).
So although Caleb's birthday started out... not so special, at the end of the day he said it was his best birthday yet. Sam and I are so glad he was born and that he's ours forever!
