Fun in the Houston sun!!

Sam loves to give hugs! I captured a few of them down in Houston...Uncle Tim and Sam
Poor Dean!

Cousins!!! Leighton, Sam, Dean, and Eva

Sam and I flew to Houston on Tuesday the 19th and were there for 10 days. We had so much fun. Sam loved playing with cousins and swimming at the pool. Steph was there with her 3 kids, Sarah was there, Cami was there most of the time, and Laura was there part of the time. So we were only missing Lindsay. :( It was our first time having a sister's week. We did lots of crafts and they all turned out so cute! They were all relatively inexpensive and easy. We made a Christmas table runner from 5 inch squares (then Mom quilted them with her long arm!), a cuff bracelet, a ring, we crocheted headbands, and made these really cute necklaces from jersey fabric. I'd say it was a big success. We also went to the Blue Bell Factory, went swimming everyday, and played Mexican Train and Murder in the Dark among many other things. Here's a few more pics. I think Mom and Laura have better ones on their cameras but these will have to do for now.Grandpa with Dean and SamEva, Sam, and LeightonHeadbands!Grandma acting as the bridge.
I can't believe he's old enough to do this!

Caleb missed Sam a lot while we were gone. He was worried Sam wouldn't remember him when we got back but Sam immediately lunged toward him when he saw him so there was no problem there! He is a Daddy's boy for sure. Caleb went to Scout Camp for the first 3 days that we were gone which worked out nicely. Luckily allergy season has passed for him so they weren't too big of a problem for him camping. Besides that he was busy in the evenings doing stuff around the house. He didn't tell me anything he was working on but when we got home I found out he'd done a ton of fixing and deep cleaning around the house. That was an AWESOME surprise!!

Finding out I'd missed my return flight by a whole day, however, was not such a great surprise. I thought my flight was on Friday but it was actually on Thursday! I had to buy a whole new ticket and ended up flying to Salt Lake and Caleb drove down and picked me up. We stayed at Josh and Stephanie's that night and had fun playing tennis with them the next morning before we left. Then we decided to stop at the Park City outlets on our way home. So overall it worked out but it was a costly mistake I made!!! Lesson learned: always check and RE-CHECK your date of travel.
