5 days til Christmas!

I'm excited to record that my first quilt is VERY near completion. It's a rag quilt for someone's Christmas gift and I can't believe I made it! All that's left is a little more cutting of the seams which I'll do on the drive down to Utah. Caleb helped quite a bit too. He spent several hours on Saturday tracing the lines on each square that I was to sew so that all the lines matched up and it didn't look too crooked. He also took Sam over to the church for a while to play in the gym so I could work on the quilt. Isn't he awesome. So it was definitely a group effort. Pajamas and a baby blanket still need to be done... before leaving tomorrow. So who knows why I'm blogging right now, except that I put it on my to do list! I love this time of year. It's busy but so fun.
I'm also VERY excited to record that Caleb found my wedding ring. It was gone for 3 weeks and I was heart broken. I would tear up whenever I saw a picture where I could see my ring! He found it in the bag of onions when we were making a lentil soup on Sunday, of all places. Who knows how it got in there. I prayed mightily to find that thing. Miracle? I think so. What a huge relief. I know it's just something material but it represents so much and I really wanted it back!! So Caleb doesn't even have to get me anything for Christmas after finding my ring! :)
Sam is crazy about jumping these days. He can get some good air on the couch springs! He's improved a lot in the last few weeks. He's jumping off the couch now onto the floor, whereas before he needed our help to even jump from the cushionless couch onto the cushion. Caleb's always coming up with a new formation with the couch cushions (ramps, stairs, etc.) and even added in a piece of wood on Sunday to make a bridge from our couch to the next. I never knew all the hours of entertainment we'd get out of those couches when we bought them for $250 off craigslist!
Besides that we've enjoyed nights out with the Schuldts and the Jones, to the temple visitor's center and this lady's house full of 237 gorgeous trees. Both nights were lots of fun. I'm excited to take Sam to see the lights at temple square.
Yesterday Sam threw his food or something that frustrated me and I said, "Sam that was ridiculous" without even thinking about what I was saying. He chuckled a bit and repeated right away, "Ridiculous!" and has been saying it randomly ever since b/c he knows I think it's funny. What a crack up. Hard to stay mad when he does something cute like that. His favorite Christmas songs so far are Jingle Bells and "Rum pum pum pum."
